There was not just one problem, but a few. At the very beginning, we got a very complex Excel file that the client wanted to turn into a web application. The initial idea of short-term cooperation was replaced by reality in the form of more than 6 years of ongoing cooperation. The client's business grew in size and complexity so fast that keeping pace in their 5-member team was getting more and more difficult.
We could write whole stacks of papers about what technologies we used, but technical sophistication is not what helped Rockpoint succeed. The crucial ingredient to their success was the right choice of functions and especially their visual execution. There is no point in developing an application that contains 100 + 1 functions when we need a 500-hundred page manual to learn how to use it. That is the reason why we kept thinking about where and how we could save Rockpoint and its clients the most time, work and, after all, money.

Digitization of the whole process. Draft contracts are sent and signed electronically. Employees see the status of the contract at all times. This enables them, for example, to set reminders when a document is waiting for too long at some point. Can you imagine such communication with the authorities? What are your thoughts on that?
At first, the contract must be drawn up and the risk profile in the contract must be identified and assessed. This is just the beginning. To avoid chaos when working on the assignment we came up with the idea of the so-called Whiteboards. Imagine something like Trello on steroids.
When one department completes its part of the work, they shift the contract or, rather, a card that represents the contract to another whiteboard that is managed by another department. And so the contract travels in the company until it ends up in the archive. It may sound trivial, but thanks to this functionality the whole company is well-organized and everyone knows which contract is in which department and how much work awaits them in the next few days, etc.
Exchanging information with the bank is a crucial functionality of the whole process. And what does every bank want to see? Numbers. But not just any numbers. Contract and client portfolio statistics processed according to many parameters. The bank that cooperates with RockPoint called our reports “the most detailed ones it has ever seen in the field”. These reports enable the client to get a credit line in the form of a 9-digit number.
The value of the portfolio that Rockpoint manages is $60+ million and is growing almost logarithmically. With our help, Rockpoint has grown from an original 5-member team to a 60+ member giant. Thanks to the complete digitization of the work process and the user-friendly interface, the client can now be proud of having managed to undergo the process from the initial communication to the provision of the loan in the shortest time ever. And all of this without the necessity of a personal meeting or hand signing.
